Questions

What counts as a big bet?

A stock worth 5% or more of one tracked manager's whole reported 13F portfolio. A company's share classes are added together, and options, convertible notes and preferreds are left out.

What is the quarter-end price?

The value the manager reported for the position divided by its share count, which is the stock's price on the last day of the quarter, restated for any split since. The page compares it with the latest close for the stocks this site covers.

Does a fall since quarter end mean the manager is losing money?

Not necessarily. A 13F shows what was held on one day, not what was paid or what has been traded since. The manager may have bought far lower, or sold after the quarter ended; the next filing is the first to show it.

What does the 52-week range show?

Where the latest close sits between the lowest and highest closing prices of the past year, from the left end (the low) to the right end (the high). It is a fact about the price, not a view on whether it will move.

A 13F is filed up to 45 days after quarter end and lists long US positions only. A manager may have sold since; the next filing is the first to show it.
