The market pages

Readings of the market as a whole: a sentiment gauge, Treasury yields, an AI spending monitor, the earnings calendar and the day's news — each built from public data and dated.

Market sentiment gauge

The gauge rebuilds a well-known fear-and-greed reading from public data, on a scale from 0 (extreme fear) to 100 (extreme greed). It has seven factors, and says how close each one is to the original:

FactorHow it is built here
Market momentumReproduced as defined
Market volatilityReproduced as defined
Safe-haven demandReproduced as defined
Junk bond demandA proxy from public prices
Stock price strengthA proxy, from the covered stocks
Stock price breadthA proxy, from the covered stocks
Put and call optionsLeft out: the data behind it is not public

The missing factor is shown as missing, never filled in. The history is recomputed every night.

Treasury yields

Treasury yields puts the 10-year yield first, because it is the starting point of every discount rate on the site, then lists all eleven maturities of the Treasury's daily par yield curve and answers four questions about the curve's shape. The 10-year it shows is the same number the valuations read that night.

AI bubble monitor

The monitor tracks thirteen indicators in five groups — spending, funding, payback, suppliers and the market. Each is placed against its own history, and the groups are averaged into one 0–100 pressure reading. It says where each number sits against its past; it never says whether AI is a bubble, or what to do about it.

Earnings calendar

The calendar shows one week as seven columns, each day's companies largest first, above a size floor you can change. Every week also has an address of its own for sharing.

News

Market news is the day's company news and 8-K filings, sorted by a classifier into key events and grouped so one company's day reads as one line. It updates every minute during US trading hours. The classifications are a trial and can be wrong; the headlines are their publishers', linked to the source. A stock's News tab is the same feed narrowed to one company.

Status

The status page shows whether the site and the API are answering, how current each dataset is, and how the scheduled runs went.
